25th Anniversary Celebration

Chris Round, Marketing Manager at 10:23 am on Wednesday, August 23, 2006

A few of the guys Thursday night we celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a party at the nearby Argosy Casino & Hotel. We took the opportunity to remember our accomplishments of the past 25 years and to look forward to the bright future of our company.

It’s a good thing we’re good at making conveyors, because we wouldn’t last long as professional gamblers. Overall the QC Industries family came out in the black for the night, but it was mainly thanks to a big nickel-slot win by Beth Baker!

We enjoyed a company holiday on Friday to recover. If you tried to reach us that day, thanks for your understanding!

American Machinist Magazine on the Best Use of a Conveyor Contest

Chris Round, Marketing Manager at 9:29 pm on Tuesday, August 22, 2006

American Machinist magazine ran an article last week about our Best Use of a Conveyor contest. It’s great to see a writer take a press release and really have some fun with it:

“For decades, conveyor belts have put in guest appearances in cliffhanger movies such as “The Perils of Pauline,” and in song, as in The Coasters “Along Came Jones,” where the heroine is tied up and sent on to her imminent finish. You may even have seen that famous glove traveling down a conveyor belt full of bottles in the 1970s sitcom “Laverne & Shirley.” But QC Industries is looking for a few real stories about conveyors in action.”

Read the article for more great quotes and don’t forget that there are only 9 days left to submit an entry!

National Manufacturing Week, Quality Expo, Assembly Technology ExpoThat’s what I said when the PR department from Canon Communications asked for my opinion on combining Assembly Tech Expo, National Manufacturing Week and the Quality Expo.

They are known for bundling shows and that has been great for business. Ever since Canon bought the regional packaging shows we pushed for them to buy even more Reed shows.

Trade shows have been struggling, but Canon has found a way to make them work. The Assembly/NMW/Quality event doesn’t pick up until 2007, but we are glad we have a high priority, as they will be turning exhibitors away. Great job Canon!
