Introducing InnerDrive Conveyors

Chris Round, Marketing Manager at 4:44 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2007

InnerDriveOur new InnerDrive Conveyors are now available for order. These unique conveyors save space by putting a safe and efficient 24vdc drive motor inside the conveyor, all while maintaining our signature low profile frame height. They can reach speeds up to 60 FPM and loads up to 100 lbs. Each conveyor includes a variable speed control card that easily integrates with automation systems for “run on demand” applications, using inhibit/run controls from devices such as timers and photo-eyes. The card can be mounted either to the conveyor frame or in a QC Industries-supplied NEMA-12 control box.

We are excited to offer these conveyors as standard product. For more information and specifications, please visit our website. Contact our sales department at (513) 753-6000 or your local distributor or representative for additional information.

Lube-for-Life Bearings Now Standard

Chris Thompson, Marketing Coordinator at 11:01 am on Tuesday, January 2, 2007

Lube-for-Life Bearing CutawayOur new Lube-for-Life Bearings are now standard equipment for all our conveyors. These bearings are a direct replacement for our previous bearings.

The unique Lube-For-Life Bearings promise reduced conveyor maintenance and increased bearing life. Their greaseless design makes the conveyor maintenance-free, eliminating the need to periodically lubricate the bearings and protects them from contamination with a permanently applied Micro-Poly Lubricant specially designed to meet the needs of our conveyors. The risk of product contamination by bearing grease has been completely eliminated.

Since they are a direct replacement, these bearings are also available to retrofit existing conveyors.

These bearings have been extremely popular since we introduced them as an option in September. One of our customers had problems with corn meal entering our old bearings and causing them to fail repeatedly. Since replacing those bearings with our new Lube-for-Life bearings they haven’t had a single bearing failure.

Proud to Count Imaginestics as a Partner

Chris Thompson, Marketing Coordinator at 3:21 pm on Monday, October 30, 2006

3dseek-nainesh.jpgWe believe in building long-term partnerships with both our customers and our vendors. Our Engineering Manager, Frank Baker recently had the opportunity to praise one of our partners before a group of Cincinnati-area manufacturers at an event organized by Imaginestics.

We were among the first companies to offer models for download through 3D-Seek.com, Imaginestics’ flagship product. 3D-Seek has been extremely successful for us and their recent national exposure as the world’s first “shape search engine” has brought even further traffic growth. We’re proud to count Imaginestics as a partner.

Shown here is Nainesh Rathod, President of Imaginistics.

Celebrating 25 Years

Dave Endres, General Manager at 4:06 pm on Wednesday, September 27, 2006

QC Industries - 25 YearsWe celebrated QC Industries’ 25 year anniversary with our valued distribution and representative network in Chicago during the Assembly Technology Expo on Monday.

The celebration was held at the Hotel Sofitel Ballroom and included a sit-down dinner as well as a presentation by our president, David Dornbach. The presentation included a reflection on our companies’ past, present and future. In addition, several tenured distributorships were awarded Quarter Century Awards for their long-standing partnership and accomplishments over the past 25 years.

After receiving one of the awards, Tom Gemkow with Gem Automation graciously stated, “QC Industries has long been a valued principal for many reasons, including one of the most important: the dedication of the QC Industries staff and how far they are willing to go for the customer.” After the presentation, Patty Beaury of PRB Manufacturer’s Representatives said, “One of the more impressive things about the evening was hearing the most tenured distributorships speaking so fondly about the company. It made a big impression on me (as a newer representative) to hear them speak of their history with QC Industries in such a way.”

Overall the evening was quite enjoyable, but it did not go off without incident. Mid-way through the presentation the sound went out due to a technical issue. One of our more colorful distributors, John Paturel with JoPat Enterprises, saved the day with a couple minutes of stand up comedy.

The party was an enjoyable and memorable experience. QC Industries took the opportunity to not only celebrate a company milestone of 25 years, but also to thank those partner companies that helped make our first 25 years so successful and rewarding.

Assembly Technology Expo

Chris Thompson, Marketing Coordinator at 10:01 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2006

Assembly Technology ExpoIf you’re in Chicago for this week’s Assembly Technology Expo, be sure to swing by and visit us in booth 107. We are toward the left side of the main show floor. I toured the show floor yesterday and it looks to be a good show this year — a little larger than it has the past few years.

Also, be sure to visit our friends at Epson Robots (booth 617). One of our 125 Series conveyors with a backlight and translucent belt is featured in their robotic pick/place demonstration.

Upstairs at the show is a printed circuit board assembly line, where they’re assembling circuit boards with small LED displays. It’s really pretty fascinating to see the entire line in action, and at the end you can pick up one of the displays to take home.

This is the last year for the Assembly Technology Expo by itself, as next year it will be joining up with National Manufacturing Week and the Quality Expo.

25th Anniversary Celebration

Chris Round, Marketing Manager at 10:23 am on Wednesday, August 23, 2006

A few of the guys Thursday night we celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a party at the nearby Argosy Casino & Hotel. We took the opportunity to remember our accomplishments of the past 25 years and to look forward to the bright future of our company.

It’s a good thing we’re good at making conveyors, because we wouldn’t last long as professional gamblers. Overall the QC Industries family came out in the black for the night, but it was mainly thanks to a big nickel-slot win by Beth Baker!

We enjoyed a company holiday on Friday to recover. If you tried to reach us that day, thanks for your understanding!
